Damar Romeyelle Hamlin (born March 24, 1998) is an American football safety for the National Football League’s Buffalo Bills (NFL). He attended the University of Pittsburgh and was picked by the Bills in 2021.

During his first season, he was a backup player until being promoted to a regular starter in his second. On January 2, 2023, after delivering a tackle, Hamlin slumped on the field and went into heart arrest during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He was given CPR before being brought to the hospital.

He went to Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was voted first-team All-State and Class AAAA Defensive Player of the Year.

Coming out of Central Catholic, Hamlin was regarded as a top cornerback and was pursued by several major college football programs. He enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh to play for the Pittsburgh Panthers in collegiate football. As a freshman, he appeared in three games before suffering an injury and redshirting.

In nine games as a redshirt freshman, he had 41 tackles and one interception. As a redshirt sophomore, Hamlin led the Panthers with 76 tackles and two interceptions and was selected for honorable mention All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). As a redshirt junior, he had 84 tackles and ten passes broken up.

In his final season, he was chosen team captain and was named second-team All-ACC after leading the team with 66 tackles and seven passes broken up.
